विशेष न्यायालय (गैंगस्टर एक्ट) के न्यायाधीश सुशील कुमार खरवार की अदालत ने थाना कपसेठी में दर्ज गैंगस्टर एक्ट के एक मामले में आरोपी रामजी सिंह व सुशील सिंह को साक्ष्य के अभाव में संदेह का लाभ देते हुए दोषमुक्त कर दिया।

👉अभियोजन पक्ष के अनुसार, अभियुक्तगण पर आरोप था कि वे एक संगठित गिरोह बनाकर भूमि विवादों में दबंगई के जरिए आर्थिक लाभ उठाते थे। वर्ष 2001 में भूमि विवाद के चलते राकेश सिंह की हत्या और वर्ष 2003 में जितेन्द्र सिंह उर्फ करिया सिंह की हत्या तथा संजय सिंह को गंभीर रूप से घायल करने जैसी घटनाओं में इस गिरोह का नाम सामने आया था।
👉अभियोजन का कहना था कि आरोपीगण का स्वतंत्र रहना समाज व जनहित के लिए घातक है। हालांकि, अदालत ने उपलब्ध साक्ष्यों को अपर्याप्त मानते हुए दोनों आरोपियों को संदेह का लाभ देते हुए बरी कर दिया।

Two Accused Acquitted in Gangster Act Case
Varanasi:
The special court (Gangster Act) of Judge Sushil Kumar Kharwar has acquitted Ramji Singh and Sushil Singh, two accused in a Gangster Act case registered at Kapsaithi police station. They were acquitted due to lack of evidence, giving them the benefit of the doubt.
The defense was effectively argued in court by senior criminal advocates Satyendra Kumar Rai and Santosh Kumar Mishra, along with their assisting advocates Ashutosh Garg and Naved Ahmed.
👉 According to the prosecution, the accused were alleged to be part of an organized gang that used intimidation in land disputes to gain financial benefits. This gang's name came up in connection with the murder of Rakesh Singh in 2001, the murder of Jitendra Singh alias Kariya Singh, and seriously injuring Sanjay Singh in 2003.
👉 The prosecution had argued that allowing the accused to remain free was dangerous for society and the public. However, the court found the available evidence to be insufficient and acquitted both accused, giving them the benefit of the doubt.
